This role will lead a team responsible for building the optimisation models and AI-driven planning solutions that determine how products move through a large-scale network. You’ll lead a team of Data Scientists solving complex problems, while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Operations and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of 4–7 Data Scientists. Build optimisation models that improve routing, transportation and network planning. Develop AI-driven solutions that automate operational decision-making. Optimise fleet utilisation, driver capacity, delivery times and transportation costs. Lead mathematical modelling and Machine Learning initiatives from concept through production. Partner with Product, Engineering and Operations to deploy models into real-world workflows. Use experimentation and testing to measure commercial and operational impact. Influence senior stakeholders and help shape wider logistics strategy. Deliver measurable value through improved efficiency, speed and decision-making. Required Experience Strong background in Data Science, Operations Research or mathematical optimisation. Experience solving problems across logistics, transportation, supply chain, routing or network optimisation. Proven people leadership experience within technical Data Science or analytical teams. Strong hands-on technical capability across Python, Machine Learning, mathematical optimisation and statistical modelling. Experience applying Operations Research, route/network optimisation and experimentation techniques to production-level business problems. Experience deploying models that directly influence operational decisions. Strong commercial mindset and senior stakeholder communication skills. Comfortable remaining technically credible while leading a high-performing team.
