About the Role: Capital One spends over $17B annually with 1000s of third parties, and the Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) organization is central to driving growth, efficiency, and risk management transformation across the entire company. As a strategic leader within our growing Strategy & Analytics team, you will serve as a core architect in building and delivering ESM’s long-term strategy—rallying around our mission to "Unleash Third Party Value" . In this role, you will sit at the intersection of Senior Leadership, Product, Technology, Analyst, Risk, and Operations teams. You will partner closely with leadership and performers across ESM, Risk, Due diligence partners, and Lines of Business (LOBs) to evaluate complex business models, drive strategic priorities, and develop data products to enable new analysis and insights. You’ll help shape the strategic direction of ESM, collaborate closely with ESM’s Business and Financial Analyst teams, and work with key stakeholders across the organization to help achieve our top priorities. This is a premier opportunity for a data leader looking to help us transform our platforms, our data products, and the way that we can analyze and instrument our business to drive strategic outcomes. This leader will help craft and implement our data strategy, lead the work of a team of 4+ Data Analysts, mentor top analytical talent, and influence the direction of these critical capabilities for Capital One. General Responsibilities: Operate within the data ecosystem: Understand the needs of the business and develop the reports and data products necessary for analysis; Engage with multiple Product teams to push for requirements and instrumentation Help develop the data ecosystem: Establish data products, ontology, architecture, etc. in close partnership with Product teams Refining a new Enterprise-wide analytical tools validation framework Planning and executing validation projects Assessing the quality and risk of analytical tool methodologies across Capital One, and the nature of tools usage within those processes Understanding technical issues in analytical tools and assessing tools risks and opportunities Independently researching, identifying, and prototyping industry best practices for emerging analytical tools Communicating results clearly and concisely both verbally and through written communications via validation reports and presentations Leveraging education, colleagues and training opportunities to develop solutions to business problems Coaching and mentoring junior staff Basic Qualifications: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of experience performing data analytics, or currently has, or is i…
