Reports to: Senior Director, Sourcing Analytics As the Senior Manager, Category Analytics – Grocery / HABA, you will lead high-impact commercial analysis that strengthens sourcing strategies, preparation and value creation across the Grocery and HABA portfolios. You will develop sophisticated sourcing strategies, rigorously assess offers and translate complex economics and tradeoffs into actionable commercial recommendations. Reporting to the Senior Director, Sourcing Analytics, you will serve as a senior analytical thought partner to Sourcing and Merchandising leaders. You will bring an enterprise-value lens to challenging decisions, combining commercial insight, quantitative rigour and strategic judgement to help teams identify opportunities, evaluate trade-offs and negotiate from a stronger fact base. Core Responsibilities: Supplier Plays & Negotiation Strategy Drive analytics to inform development of data-driven strategies for priority sourcing initiatives, integrating category context, supplier economics, historical performance, and commercial objectives. Structure ambiguous challenges into clear hypotheses, analytical workplans, decision options and recommended negotiation approaches. Partner with category stakeholders to develop scenarios, walk-away considerations and supporting narratives for key sourcing discussions. Offer Assessment & Commercial Economics Independently assess cost and funding offers, terms, investments and other commercial components, quantifying financial implications and trade-offs. Build robust models to compare proposals against internal baselines, relevant benchmarks and alternative scenarios; identify assumptions, sensitivities and risks. Translate offer analysis into concise recommendations that support timely, fact-based decisions and negotiation responses. Opportunity Identification & Value Delivery Identify incremental commercial value opportunities through supplier, category, spend and performance analytics. Develop opportunity sizing and tracking approaches with category teams and Finance, as appropriate, to connect analytical recommendations to realized outcomes. Challenge proposals and existing commercial structures to surface overlooked opportunities while balancing strategic supplier relationships and broader business considerations. Senior Stakeholder Partnership Act as a trusted advisor to senior Sourcing and Merchandising leaders on priority supplier strategies and negotiation decisions. Facilitate cross-functional alignment on commercial objectives, evaluation assumptions and enterprise trade-offs. Present persuasive, executive-ready stories that connect complex analyses to clear actions and financial outcomes. Analytics Methods, Innovation & Mentorship Establish repeatable frameworks, analytical tools and quality standards across Grocery / HABA Apply advanced analytics, automation and emerging AI capabilities where they improve speed, quality and consistency of commercial decisions. Coach colleagues and share best practices across the Analytics function without assuming formal line-management responsibility. Key Skills and Qualifications 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics, sourcing, procurement, merchandising, CPG/retail or consulting; experience in CoS/HABA is an asset.
