Senior Interior Designer
George Oliver DesignWe are a Scottsdale/ Phoenix -based interior design studio specializing in high-end residential interiors and custom homes throughout the Valley. We are looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our growing team. This is an important role within our studio for someone who is ready to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients and project partners, and help lead projects from the initial design concept through final installation. We are looking for a designer who has a strong design eye, excellent technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage projects and solve problems. THE ROLE As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be involved in all aspects of our residential projects, including: Developing overall design concepts and project direction Creating furniture plans, finish plans, elevations, and detailed design packages Selecting furniture, fabrics, rugs, lighting, plumbing, tile, stone, wallcoverings, artwork, and accessories Developing custom furniture and millwork designs Preparing and presenting design concepts and selections to clients Working directly with homeowners and maintaining strong client relationships Coordinating with architects, builders, contractors, and trades Reviewing architectural and construction drawings Coordinating design details and resolving issues during construction Managing design revisions and project schedules Working within established project budgets Specifying and coordinating FF&E Assisting with procurement, order tracking, receiving, damage resolution, and installation Participating in site visits, construction meetings, and installations Reviewing completed work to ensure the design intent has been executed properly Working collaboratively with junior designers and helping develop their skills WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR The right person will be experienced enough to take ownership without constant direction . You should be someone who can walk into a project, understand what needs to happen next, and confidently move it forward. Required: 7+ years of professional interior design experience Significant high-end residential experience Strong portfolio demonstrating completed projects Experience taking projects from concept through installation Strong knowledge of residential construction Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings Strong AutoCAD skills Excellent knowledge of FF&E and residential finishes Experience with furniture specifications and procurement Strong client presentation and communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Exceptional attention to detail Ability to communicate professionally with clients, builders, architects, vendors, and trades Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field Experience with luxury custom homes Experience managing significant FF&E budgets Experience with custom furniture and millwork Knowledge of luxury furniture, fabric, lighting, plumbing, tile, stone, and wallpaper vendors Experience mentoring junior designers Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or SketchUp Experience with high-end installations and styling THE PERSON WE WANT We are looking for someone who is: A DESIGNER — You have a sophisticated design aesthetic and understand how to create beautiful, layered, timeless interiors.
