As our Senior Global Trade Compliance & FTZ Specialist, you’ll bring hands-on customs expertise to the decisions that affect how products enter the U.S. You’ll work across product, sourcing, logistics, and finance teams to improve import accuracy, support our Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, and identify opportunities to manage duty costs. This role combines technical analysis with practical problem-solving. You’ll be a go-to resource for HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, broker coordination, and FTZ processes. You’ll report to the Director, Plan to Product Operations. This position will report to the Director, Plan to Product Operations and requires travel to our corporate headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. What You’ll Do Review import documents, customs entries, and broker instructions to help ensure accurate, timely clearance and compliant recordkeeping. Determine and maintain HTS classifications, country of origin, marking, and customs valuation for imported products. Support FTZ admissions, inventory controls, transfers, withdrawals, reconciliations, and required records. Partner with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve clearance issues, entry discrepancies, CBP inquiries, and post-entry matters. Review trade requirements for new products, suppliers, and sourcing changes, and maintain accurate data across internal and broker systems. Analyze tariff impacts and support duty savings opportunities, including drawback, special tariff programs, exclusions, and FTZ savings tracking. Conduct compliance reviews, identify gaps, and follow through on corrective actions. Monitor regulatory changes and keep import and FTZ procedures, work instructions, and controls current. Share practical guidance with procurement, planning, logistics, product, and finance teams. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain management, or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional experience. Active U.S. Customs Broker License issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. 3+ years of experience in import compliance, customs brokerage, trade compliance, or related international logistics work. Hands-on experience with HTSUS classification, customs valuation, country of origin, marking, import documentation, and customs entries. Working knowledge of FTZ regulations, transaction flows, inventory controls, and recordkeeping. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex trade requirements clearly to colleagues across the business. Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with ERP, broker, shipment, and customs data.
