Job ID: J53321 Job Title: Senior Functional Consultant, SAP GTS Location: Preferably Minneapolis, MN Duration: 18 Months + Extension Domain Exposure: Oil & Gas Work Authorization: US Citizen,Green Card,OPT-EAD,CPT,H-1B,H4-EAD,L2-EAD,GC-EAD Client: To Be Discussed Later Employment Type: W-2, 1099, C2C Job Description : We are looking for a Senior Functional Consultant in SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) to provide L2/L3 application maintenance and support for our live trade compliance and customs landscape. You will keep GTS / E4H processes stable, compliant, and continuously improved, resolving incidents within SLA, handling change requests, working on enhancements and acting as the subject matter expert for import and export operations. Key Responsibilities Provide L2/L3 support for SAP GTS, resolving incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within agreed SLAs. Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes. Support all GTS sub-modules: Compliance Management: sanctioned party list screening, embargo checks, export and import control, license determination and management, blocked document handling. Customs Management: import and export declarations, transit procedures, customs document processing, and error resolution. Risk Management: preference management, LTSD processing, and related trade risk processes. Electronic Communication Management: monitoring and troubleshooting message exchange with customs authorities and external partners, including failed or stuck messages. Manage Long-Term Supplier Declarations (LTSDs), including vendor declaration requests, reminders, validation, and preference determination. Support day-to-day import and export processing, including feeder system integration with SAP SD, MM, and LE, and resolve document transfer and replication issues. Monitor batch jobs, interfaces, and master data replication (business partners, materials, customs tariff numbers), and fix failures proactively. Maintain and update master data, legal regulations, sanctioned party lists, tariff and duty data, and customs authority changes. Handle small enhancements and change requests, including analysis, configuration, functional specs, testing, and transport management. Support regulatory and statutory updates, audits, and period-end or peak-season activities. Coordinate with ABAP, Basis, and integration teams on defect fixes and system changes. Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and SOPs. Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge transfer and user training. Suggest process improvements and automation to reduce ticket volumes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, or a related field. Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in SAP functional consulting, with significant depth in SAP GTS. Hands-on experience across all GTS sub-modules: Compliance Management, Customs Management, Risk Management, and Electronic Communication Management. In-depth knowledge of LTSDs and the preference management process. Hands-on experience in import and export processing in a live production environment. Proven experience in application maintenance and support, with incident, problem, and change management. Experience working with SLAs and ticketing tools (ITSM, Jira, or similar). Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs, and export controls. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: SAP GTS experienced. Experience supporting SAP GTS integrated with ECC. ITIL Foundation certification or working knowledge of ITIL processes. Working knowledge of ABAP debugging, IDocs, and PI/PO or CPI monitoring. Experience supporting 24x7 or follow-the-sun operations. Industry experience in manufacturing, automotive, pharma, or high-tech.
