Senior Fleet Technician & Shop Supervisor

About the Role We are seeking a skilled Senior Fleet Technician to provide hands-on leadership in our busy repair facility. You will leverage your deep expertise in automotive and diesel systems to guide our technical team, optimize shop throughput, and ensure every vehicle returns to the road in peak condition. Responsibilities Direct daily shop operations by prioritizing work orders and delegating tasks to maximize team efficiency. Execute complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics on gas and diesel engines to identify root causes. Provide technical mentorship to junior staff, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety compliance. Manage the procurement of parts and coordinate with vendors to minimize vehicle downtime. Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance and major repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles, including box trucks and vans. Verify repair quality through rigorous road testing and final inspections. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding repair status, technical recommendations, and project timelines. Uphold a clean, organized, and safe working environment by overseeing equipment maintenance and shop protocols. Required Skills Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in automotive or diesel repair. Advanced proficiency in engine performance, drivability, and electrical troubleshooting. Proven ability to manage shop workflow and lead a team of technicians. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple repair projects simultaneously. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background screening. Commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable mechanical service. Preferred Skills Previous experience in a shop foreman or supervisory capacity. In-depth knowledge of medium-duty truck systems and fleet maintenance software. Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer and vendor relations.
