Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead electrical system design, development, and integration for complex projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to industry standards. Your expertise will drive innovation and efficiency in our engineering solutions, supporting our global energy initiatives. Duties Lead and execute electrical engineering activities on assigned projects or defined project scopes. Manage electrical engineering requirements and deliverables to meet project scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. Act as the Electrical Engineering Lead on specific projects or scopes, including defining requirements, assigning tasks, coordinating workshare, and monitoring progress. Participate in client and project meetings, provide technical input, and prepare scope of works for the projects, cost estimates and proposals and progress reports. Provide technical support throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including: - Preparation and review of electrical equipment and material requisitions. - Technical bid evaluations. - Review of vendor documentation. - Technical review of purchase orders and procurement documentation. - Resolution of technical issues arising during construction and commissioning. Develop, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation as required. Lead power systems reliability projects, including the development of maintenance procedures and check sheets, and maintenance strategies. Design electrical systems, SLDs, schematics, system architecture, Protection and controls, and detailed drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.Proactively identify technical risks and issues, develop practical engineering solutions, and provide timely recommendations to the clients. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to intermediate and junior engineers and designers. Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Promote effective workshare execution and coordinate work across project locations and engineering teams where applicable. Requirements: Minimum 10 years of proven Canadian experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power system design, maintenance, and reliability in Energy industries. Must be a resident of Canada with a valid P.Eng. status (with APEGA and/or PEO). Must have experience in leading electrical systems projects and teams. A strong problem-solver who can lead root-cause investigations and drive fixes across engineering, maintenance, reliability, and operations Strong background in electrical distribution systems including but not limited to power transformers, protection and controls, power lines, switchgear, MCCs, Large motors, VFDs, Generators, breakers, ... Should have field work experience in auditing the electrical systems, creating as-built drawings, troubleshooting, RFI responses to the construction team Experience working with power systems studies is considered an asset Working with the asset owners will be considered an asset.
