The Senior Director, Donation Operations Education and Training provides enterprise leadership and strategic direction for LiveOnNY’s donation operations education, training, and competency framework. This role directs education and training activities as a result of collaboration with department leadership, material function leadership, and subject matter experts, ensuring alignment with donation and donor safety, regulatory compliance, workforce readiness, and donation performance outcomes for a federally designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO). This position supports the establishment and enforcement of a prescriptive, audit-ready education and competency system aligned with CMS OPO Conditions for Coverage, OPTN policies, federal and state law, and LiveOnNY’s operational strategy.
1. Enterprise Education & Training Strategy
Direct education and training strategy as a result of collaboration with department leadership, material function leadership, and subject matter experts. Translate regulatory and operational requirements into structured, measurable education and competency frameworks as directed by organizational leadership.
2. Regulatory Alignment & Compliance Direction
Direct the education and training components supporting compliance with regulatory bodies including but not limited to CMS, OPTN, NYS, FDA, OSHA, and other applicable requirements. Ensure training programs are defensible, traceable, auditable, and capable of demonstrating workforce competency during surveys, reviews, and audits.
3. Curriculum Architecture & Instructional Governance
Oversee the design and maintenance of curricula developed as directed, covering onboarding, rolespecific competency, continuing education, remediation, and leadership development. Establish instructional design standards, templates, evaluation methodologies, and documentation requirements across all learning modalities. Ensure consistent application of adult-learning theory, simulation-based education, and performance-based competency validation in accordance with approved direction.
4. Competency Frameworks & Workforce Readiness
Direct the development and governance of learning pathways and competency frameworks in collaboration with leadership and subject matter experts. Ensure competency validation is objective, repeatable, and aligned with regulatory expectations and operational requirements.
5. Measurement, Analytics & Performance Monitoring
Define metrics used to evaluate education and training effectiveness, including competency attainment and regulatory readiness indicators. Oversee evaluation methodologies and reporting that demonstrate training effectiveness and compliance support.
6. Leadership, Oversight & Team Direction
Direct, mentor, and evaluate managers and staff within Donation Operations Education and Training. Establish accountability structures, role clarity, and performance expectations across the education function. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and regulatory adherence.
7. Learning Systems & Infrastructure
Provide senior-level oversight of the Learning Management System (LMS) and related learning technologies to ensure accuracy, reliability, and audit readiness. Approve learning technology configuration and utilization as directed in support of compliance and operational needs. Ensure training records, competency documentation, and certification evidence are complete, accurate, and readily retrievable.
8. Audit, Review & Corrective Action Support
Ensure education and training documentation is maintained in a state of continuous audit readiness. Direct education-related responses to internal and external audit requests with urgency, accuracy, and completeness. Monitor and verify completion of training-related corrective and preventive actions.
Must be available to support a 24/7 operational environment as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required:
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience designing, governing, and directing education and training programs in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
• Minimum of five (5) years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
• Extensive experience overseeing Learning Management Systems (LMS) in support of compliance and workforce readiness.
Adult Learning & Instructional Expertise
• Advanced knowledge of adult-learning theory, instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Agile), and performance improvement principles.
• Ability to translate complex clinical and operational processes into structured education solutions as directed.
Regulatory Knowledge
• Understanding of regulatory requirements affecting clinical operations, including CMS, OPTN/UNOS, OSHA, HIPAA, HRSA, and applicable New York State requirements.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in instructional design, adult education, health sciences, human resources, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPTD/CPLP, CTP, ABTC, or equivalent.
• Experience with simulation-based learning and data-supported training evaluation.

Salary Range: $153,000.00- $191,000.00 annually
