Senior Diesel Truck & Forklift Mechanic
Fast Track ExpressFast Track Express is seeking an experienced Diesel Truck & Forklift Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our commercial truck and warehouse equipment fleet. We are looking for a hands-on mechanic with strong experience working on Freightliner trucks , including sleeper cabs and day cabs , as well as both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. The mechanic should also be comfortable performing maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other warehouse equipment. The ideal candidate can independently diagnose mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, engine, transmission, and preventive-maintenance issues and keep equipment safe and operational. Diesel-powered commercial vehicles. Forklifts. Warehouse material-handling equipment. Trailers and related fleet equipment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and commercial fleet vehicles. Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services. Diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, cooling, and air-system problems. Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and routine inspections. Troubleshoot check-engine lights and fault codes using diagnostic equipment. Diagnose and repair air brake systems. Inspect and repair truck suspension and steering components. Diagnose electrical and charging-system problems. Identify leaks, worn components, and potential mechanical failures. Perform repairs on manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Inspect tractors and trailers for safety and mechanical issues. Perform DOT-related vehicle inspections and help maintain fleet compliance. Diagnose and repair forklifts and warehouse equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Track parts used and identify parts required for upcoming repairs. Communicate equipment problems and repair recommendations to management. Respond to urgent fleet repair needs when necessary. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. Help reduce vehicle downtime by identifying problems before equipment fails. QualificationsRequired Previous professional diesel mechanic experience. Strong experience repairing heavy-duty commercial trucks. Experience working with Freightliner trucks strongly preferred. Knowledge of diesel engines and related systems. Experience with commercial air brake systems. Experience diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems. Ability to perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections. Ability to use diagnostic scanners and shop equipment. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot equipment efficiently. Must have your own basic mechanic hand tools. Valid driver's license. Strong attention to safety. Preferred Experience with Freightliner sleeper and day cab tractors. Experience with both manual and automatic transmissions. Experience working on single-axle and tandem/double-axle trucks. Forklift repair and maintenance experience. Trailer maintenance experience. DOT inspection experience. Welding experience. ASE certifications. CDL is a plus but not required. Experience working for a trucking, freight-forwarding, warehouse, or logistics company. What We're Looking For We want an experienced mechanic who can look at a vehicle or piece of equipment, properly diagnose the problem, explain what needs to be repaired, and complete the work correctly. The successful candidate should be comfortable working on multiple types of commercial equipment and prioritizing repairs based on safety and operational needs.
