Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Warehouse and Integration Engineer based in Canada. We are seeking an experienced data engineering professional to take ownership of complex database, data warehouse, and integration initiatives from initial investigation through production deployment and ongoing support. This role combines hands-on Microsoft SQL Server engineering with enterprise data warehouse architecture, ETL development, reporting support, and production troubleshooting. You will help maintain reliable data operations while improving performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability. Working across an established on-premises Microsoft environment, you will also contribute to the evolution toward modern Azure-based data solutions. Collaboration with development, business analysis, project management, applications, infrastructure, and support teams will be essential. The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgment, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to drive complex work through to a documented, tested, and sustainable outcome. Performance and Scalability: Evaluate and improve database and warehouse structures to strengthen query performance, data integrity, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Production Operations: Investigate and resolve database, warehouse, integration, and reporting incidents, identifying root causes and implementing effective, lasting solutions. Data Integration and ETL: Support and troubleshoot SSIS, ETL pipelines, APIs, file-based integrations, data feeds, scheduled processes, and data movement between source systems, staging environments, warehouses, and reporting platforms. Data Quality and Reconciliation: Investigate data discrepancies, reconcile reports against source systems, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across connected platforms. Dependency and Impact Analysis: Review proposed changes to databases, data warehouses, and integrations to identify dependencies, assess downstream impacts, and reduce operational risk. Testing and Deployment: Define and execute technical tests for database, warehouse, and integration changes; support DEV, TEST/UAT, and PROD deployments, including rollback planning where appropriate. Monitoring and Recovery: Establish and improve monitoring, failure detection, retry, and recovery mechanisms for automated integrations and warehouse processes. Documentation and Supportability: Maintain accurate documentation covering critical databases, architecture, integrations, jobs, reports, data flows, and operational support procedures. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Applications, Infrastructure, and Support teams to coordinate technical delivery and resolve dependencies. Delivery Ownership: Communicate progress, target dates, blockers, risks, and next steps clearly. Escalate issues early and ensure all assigned work is investigated, tested, validated, documented, deployed, and ready for ongoing support.
