This is a Fully Remote Job About Our Client: The organization is a well-established construction firm with over 70 years of industry experience and approximately $3 billion in annual revenue. It operates a Heavy Industrial & Power division experiencing significant growth and delivering complex projects typically valued between $50 million and $500 million. This division serves diverse, technically demanding markets including power generation, advanced manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, data centers, agriculture, food and beverage, renewable energy, central utility plants, and heavy industrial sectors. With a substantial project backlog and ongoing investment, the organization provides a strong platform for contracts professionals seeking long-term growth and involvement in complex construction projects. About the Opportunity: The SENIOR CONTRACTS MANAGER role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of construction contract administration across major heavy industrial and power projects. This position provides essential contractual guidance to project leadership from contract negotiation through execution, administration, change management, claims, and closeout. The role is critical for identifying contractual risks and ensuring compliance, thereby protecting the organization’s interests and supporting project success. Responsibilities: Manage full lifecycle of construction contracts including review, negotiation, execution, amendments, closeout, and settlement Review prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, insurance requirements, and project-specific terms Identify contractual risks, obligations, deadlines, and potential exposures; communicate issues to leadership and senior management Coordinate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, accounting, legal counsel, owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contract modifications, change orders, notices, RFIs, payment provisions, claims, and correspondence Track contract deliverables, notice requirements, insurance and bonding, lien waivers, warranties, retainage, and compliance obligations Monitor subcontractor and vendor compliance with contractual scope, schedule, safety, insurance, payment, and documentation Support project teams managing claims, disputes, delays, differing site conditions, extensions of time, and contractual issues Review payment applications, invoices, change order requests, and supporting documentation for compliance Maintain organized contract files including executed agreements and supporting documents Assist with project risk management by identifying potential cost, schedule, scope, and legal issues early Ensure contract administration complies with policies, laws, project requirements, and industry standards Develop and maintain contract management procedures, templates, logs, and tracking systems Provide guidance and training to project teams on contract requirements, documentation, notice provisions, and risk management Participate in project meetings to provide contractual guidance on scope, responsibilities, schedules, changes, and dispute avoidance Support project closeout activities including final payments, punch-list completion, warranties, releases, lien documentation, retention, and reconciliation Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders while protecting contractual and financial interests Requirements: Significant experience in construction contract management, administration, or commercial management Strong background with large, complex construction projects Preferred experience in sectors such as power generation, chemical, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, data centers, agriculture, food and beverage, renewable energy, central utility plants, or heavy industrial Strong knowledge of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, claims, notices, insuranc…
