Opportunity: Senior Construction Project Manager Job Location: Fort McMurray Region - *Accommodations are not provided, must be local to Fort McMurray* Schedule: Monday - Friday Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with a strong background in both project management and field operations. You will oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout while providing leadership to project teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple commercial and industrial construction projects from initiation through completion. Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration activities. Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients. Maintain regular site presence to monitor progress, address field issues, and support construction teams. Work closely with superintendents and foremen to manage construction sequencing, manpower, and site logistics. Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scopes to ensure successful execution. Monitor project costs, change orders, forecasts, and schedule performance. Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reporting to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Manage project turnover, deficiencies, commissioning, and closeout activities. Qualifications & Requirements Education Degree, diploma, trade certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant construction experience. Gold Seal Certification (GSC), PMP, Journeyperson certification, or related industry designation are considered an asset. Experience Minimum 8 years of progressive commercial and/or industrial construction experience. Minimum 5 years in a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Superintendent, Construction Manager, or similar leadership role. Proven experience managing projects from mobilization through commissioning and closeout. Strong background in field operations, site supervision, subcontractor coordination, and construction execution. Experience leading multiple projects while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives. Previous experience as a Superintendent, Site Supervisor, Project Coordinator, or Journeyperson Tradesperson is strongly preferred. Northern Alberta commercial or industrial construction experience is an asset. Technical Skills Strong understanding of commercial and industrial construction practices, means, and methods. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Office. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
