Senior Buyer & Planner

Position Summary The Senior Buyer & Planner position performs a wide array of activities encompassing the purchasing and planning of materials, outside services, supplies, equipment, and finished goods along with supplier relationship management and negotiations. This is an onsite schedule position in Maplewood, MO. The schedule is 4 10's M-Th. This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship or H1B Transfer. What You'll Do As a Senior Buyer & Planner Prepares and places purchase orders, verifying specifications and prices. Maintains appropriate purchasing files as required. Oversee Demand and Resource Planning by collaborating with marketing to update demand plans and communicating the need to production Collaborates with internal customers (i.e. Production, Buyer, Planner, Quality, Warehouse, etc.) to ensure supplier parts and/or services are obtained to meet schedule requirements while sustaining optimal inventory levels. Highlights demand/supply issues and escalates unresolved issues to the appropriate decisionmaker (s). Tracks, evaluates, and implements supplier cost, quality, and delivery performance and improvement initiatives via multiple metrics. Manages Distribution Center (finished goods) inventory levels and associated parameters (e.g. safety stock) to ensure 99% on-time delivery while staying within inventory plans. Creates internal sales orders aligned with the replenishment plans. Sources, negotiates, and secures quotes from suppliers to obtain the most favorable prices and services consistent with quality requirements. May provide leadership in a team environment, including providing subject matter expertise in the evaluation of supplier performance. Supports Corporate safety initiatives to prevent safety incidents and lean initiatives which eliminate waste(s). Required The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, operations or related function. OR High School Diploma/GED Plus 16 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, operations or related function. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Preferred Experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Experience in MRP system environment. Other Analytical Skills. Attention to Detail & Accuracy. Communication Skills. Decision Making. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
