soned, strong buyer with food and beverage industry experience: someone who has run full-cycle RFPs, negotiates confidently, and doesn't need to be trained on supplier sourcing or category management.
Responsibilities:
• Liaises with key departments (Sales, R&D, Production, Maintenance, Sanitation) to determine product and service needs
• Works with the NPD department to source new materials for product development
• Leads RFPs directly — from scoping through supplier response evaluation
• Monitors business trends and product availability to secure the best price per cost center without sacrificing quality, process fit, or delivery reliability
• Builds and maintains strong supplier relationships while negotiating favorable agreements
• Performs regular vendor analysis; identifies and executes changes to buying parameters to improve service levels, reduce spoilage/liquidation, and right-size inventory
• Identifies and vets potential new suppliers
• Ensures contingency plans are in place for critical materials
• Sources new products and services in support of company goals
• Tracks purchase costs against historical spend and budget
• Plans and monitors supply for regular, seasonal, and promotional demand
• Creates new items in the ERP system
• Maintains item and finished goods costing in the ERP system to support accurate inventory valuation
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of procurement/buying experience in food and beverage manufacturing
• Demonstrated ownership of full-cycle RFPs and vendor negotiations
• Working knowledge of an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central an asset)
• Strong Excel skills
Pay: $70,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
