Senior Buyer – Luxury Fashion Location: Dallas, TX | Onsite We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead buying and merchandising strategy for an established luxury, multi-brand fashion retailer. This is a highly visible role for a commercially minded merchant who combines a strong fashion point of view with a data-driven approach to assortment planning and inventory management. Key Responsibilities Lead buying and merchandising strategy across multiple retail locations and e-commerce. Develop seasonal assortments that balance established customer preferences with opportunities to attract new audiences. Identify emerging designers, trends, categories, and new product opportunities. Develop seasonal buying budgets and open-to-buy strategies across brands, categories, locations, and channels. Analyze sales, gross margin, inventory turn, sell-through, markdowns, and product performance to guide buying decisions. Conduct post-buy analysis and adjust future assortments based on performance. Manage inventory investments while improving margin and inventory productivity. Lead market appointments, seasonal line reviews, order negotiations, and vendor discussions. Build and maintain strong relationships with designers, brands, showrooms, and vendor partners. Partner closely with retail, e-commerce, and other cross-functional teams to align merchandise strategy with customer demand. Establish disciplined buying processes, reporting standards, and performance metrics. Support and develop junior buying and merchandising talent. Qualifications Significant buying and merchandising experience within luxury fashion, designer retail, or a comparable multi-brand environment. Senior-level experience with responsibility extending beyond a single store, department, or category. Strong knowledge of luxury customers, designer brands, fashion trends, and the competitive retail landscape. Expertise in merchandise planning, open-to-buy management, inventory analysis, sell-through, and margin improvement. Proven ability to combine strong fashion instincts with financial and analytical decision-making. Experience developing assortments across multiple stores, customer segments, or sales channels. Established vendor relationships and experience negotiating with brands, designers, and showrooms. Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills. Experience managing or mentoring junior buying talent. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded luxury-fashion merchant who understands that exceptional buying requires both instinct and data. They should have a strong fashion perspective while remaining disciplined around margin, inventory exposure, and sell-through.
