Skills AllianceSenior Buyer Job Type: Full time - Permanent Location: Gainesville, Florida (Hybrid) An innovative orthopedic medical device company is changing how surgeons and patients experience joint care. They design and manufacture orthopedic implants and instruments that help patients regain mobility, and they are growing their Supply Chain team to support the next phase of growth. They are looking for a Senior Buyer to lead direct materials purchasing and take ownership of the key supplier relationships that keep manufacturing running. What you'll do: Lead procurement across planning, sourcing, buying, negotiating and receiving direct materials Review MRP and non-MRP requirements, place orders, and challenge planning and forecasting inputs where needed Set and maintain MRP parameters, and manage purchase orders in the company's ERP system (QAD) Monitor inventory against targets and work with suppliers to close short- and long-term supply gaps Drive on-time delivery through expedite, de-expedite and cancel actions, and share delivery risks with internal teams Build strong supplier partnerships through site visits, weekly performance meetings and monthly performance reviews Research, select and develop suppliers, including alternative sources for key products based on risk Review and facilitate supply contracts, and work with Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier issues What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience in a buyer role within a manufacturing environment Experience in orthopedics or with an orthopedic medical device company (strongly preferred) Background in medical devices or another highly regulated industry Hands-on experience with MRP and an ERP system (QAD preferred) Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills This is a chance to join an innovation-led orthopedic business in a role where your supplier relationships and purchasing decisions directly support getting life-changing implants to patients.
