Responsibilities Safely operate semi-trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, over long-distance routes across multiple states. Transport freight efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries. Handle various types of cargo such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, and general freight, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload trucks with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered on the road. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers used for over-the-road (OTR) routes. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or refrigerated freight preferred. Experience operating trucks equipped with manual transmissions and utilizing GPS navigation systems for route planning. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
