Semi trailer mechanic

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Semi Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on semi trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, axles, and electrical components Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to ensure vehicle longevity Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding and metalworking techniques to meet specific repair requirements Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other industrial equipment safely during repairs or parts handling Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and adhere to safety protocols at all times Skills Proven experience working as a heavy truck or semi trailer mechanic in dealership or industrial settings Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems repair including air brake systems, electrical systems, suspension, and powertrain components Proficiency with schematics reading and electrical troubleshooting techniques Hands-on experience with fabrication processes using welding tools and metalworking equipment Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes safely and efficiently Familiarity with heavy equipment operation for farm machinery or industrial applications is a plus Excellent mechanical knowledge of diesel mechanics, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for assembly, repair work, and maintenance tasks Experience with tire service, wheel alignment procedures, and vehicle maintenance routines Strong understanding of safety standards related to vehicle repair shops including air brake inspections and heavy lifting procedures Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in vehicle maintenance!
