Position Overview J.Mendel is urgently seeking a dependable, vigilant, and detail-oriented Security & Stockroom Associate to join our boutique at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets for a full-time seasonal opportunity. This position combines security awareness, loss prevention, inventory management, and back-of-house operational support. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding valuable luxury merchandise, monitoring designated access points, maintaining accurate inventory records, and helping prevent internal and external theft. The ideal candidate is highly organized, observant, responsible, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with boutique management and sales associates to maintain a safe, secure, and efficient retail environment. Key Responsibilities Security & Loss Prevention Monitor designated boutique entrances, exits, and restricted-access areas to help maintain a secure environment for employees, customers, and merchandise. Maintain an alert and professional presence to deter potential theft, unauthorized access, and merchandise mishandling. Support the prevention of internal and external inventory loss by following established asset-protection procedures. Observe and report suspicious activity, security concerns, and potential policy violations promptly and professionally. Assist management with monitoring high-value merchandise and maintaining accountability for product movements. Verify authorized access to stockrooms, storage areas, and other restricted spaces. Support opening and closing security procedures, including checking designated access points and ensuring merchandise is properly secured. Document and report security incidents, missing merchandise, discrepancies, and other irregularities accurately. Maintain confidentiality regarding security procedures, inventory information, business operations, and internal investigations. Follow company protocols for incident escalation, emergency response, and loss prevention. Prioritize personal and customer safety; avoid confrontations, physical interventions, or attempted apprehensions outside company policy and applicable law. Stockroom & Inventory Management Safely receive, inspect, process, organize, and store incoming merchandise. Maintain an orderly, clean, and secure stockroom consistent with luxury retail standards. Assist with merchandise shipments, transfers, returns, and inventory replenishment. Verify product quantities, styles, sizes, and condition against receiving documentation and inventory records. Support regular cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock reconciliations. Identify and promptly report damaged, missing, misplaced, or inaccurately recorded merchandise.
