SEASONAL Retail - Receiving, Merchandising & Sorting Associates Seeking diligent and customer service-oriented associates for multiple SEASONAL part-time (10-20 hours/week) Retail Associates . Saturday availability required. Tuesday. Wednesday, or Thursday availability is a plus. Jonnycake Center of Westerly has over 7,000 sq. ft. of treasures to explore and thousands of items moving on and off the sales floor each day. The Thrift Store was created to help fund our Food Pantry and Community Resources Office and provides a positive, respectful, and enjoyable work environment. Tasks could include: - receiving merchandise donations and moving furniture - sorting, inspecting, and processing donations - restocking sales floor Required: - Saturday availability required. - Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance with a history of tenacious reliability - Ability to follow directions and work independently within parameters of instructions/duties - Ability to communicate with staff, donors, and customers in a consistently professional and courteous manner - For Receivers: Ability to lift/push heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly over the course of the day, bending, reaching. - For Merchandising & Sorting Associates: Ability to lift heavy loads (25 pounds) repeatedly over the course of the day, bending, reaching. - Ability to work cooperatively with others as part of a team - Ability to remain flexible and positive in a rapidly-changing environment - Smart decision-making skills - Ability to pass a background check and drug test. - High School Diploma, GED, or comparable life experience Desired: - Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday availability a plus! - Ideal Candidate will not be afraid of hard work; will prefer productivity to downtime - Receiving, Merchandising, or other retail experience a plus, will train Job Benefits: - Store discounts - Fun and respectful atmosphere.
