Seasonal Package Delivery Helper/Jumper - Morton, Illinois

Overview We are seeking dependable delivery helpers, also called jumpers, to join our team for the holiday delivery season starting in November . We are an Independent Service Provider (ISP) contracted with FedEx. You will be employed directly by our company, not FedEx. Jumpers ride with a delivery driver and assist with delivering and picking up packages along an assigned route. This is a physically demanding position that involves frequently entering and exiting the truck, walking, and moving heavy packages in all weather conditions. This is a non-driving position. Duties Assist the driver with package deliveries and pickups Organize and locate packages inside the delivery truck Load, unload, carry, and maneuver packages using proper lifting techniques, equipment, and team assistance as needed Frequently enter and exit the truck and walk on stairs, driveways, and uneven surfaces Help keep the truck organized and walkways clear Work safely and efficiently in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions Provide professional and courteous customer service Follow company and applicable FedEx safety procedures Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow instructions and work closely with a delivery drive Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to assist with moving packages weighing 100 pounds or more using appropriate equipment or team assistance Ability to meet applicable background screening requirements Reliable transportation to the Morton, Illinois terminal Candidates relocating must move to the area before beginning employment No driver’s license, DOT physical, or drug screening is required for this non-driving position. Pay: $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week Work Location: In person
