    Seasonal CATS Camp Secretary, Transportation Department - Summer 2026
    Rate:  $20.00 per hour
    Hours:  5 Hours per Day (Split Shift - 2.5 hours in the morning; 2.5 hours in the afternoon)

    Funded:  21st CCLC Grants and/or General Funds

    Position Purpose

    Under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor. Provides complex and confidential administrative support to the Transportation Supervisor and Bus Garage Staff. Communicates transportation information to school district employees, students, parents, and others as needed.


    Essential Functions:

    • Composes documents and projects for the Transportation Supervisor, Summer CATS Camp Program Director, or other district staff.
    • Prepares, copies and distributes notices, memos, or other correspondence for the purpose of communicating information with school employees, students, parents, and others.
    • Assists in coordinating Transportation Department schedules, along with functional responsibilities related to the transportation department.
    • Attends Department and other related meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required for program needs.
    • Assists in maintaining the daily/weekly/monthly calendar of the Transportation Supervisor for the purpose of scheduling work-related appointments, activities, and meetings, etc.
    • Assists in planning and scheduling department events and activities, and maintaining calendar of department events.
    • Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
    • Answers telephone calls, and provides information and assistance to callers.
    • Communicates with outside organizations as needed to support the operations of the transportation department.


    Additional Duties
    Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.

    Equipment
    Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, and telephone.

    Travel Requirements
    Limited travel to and from meetings may be required.

    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

    • Works in standard office and school transportation department environment.
    • Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
       

    Qualification Profile

    • High School Graduate.
    • College level course work in business, word processing, and office procedures is preferred.
    • Successful experience with office management is preferred.
