Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, vendor performance evaluations, and ongoing supplier management to secure quality materials at competitive prices. Oversee procurement activities utilizing ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to streamline purchasing processes, track inventory levels, and optimize materials management. Coordinate cross-functional teams including logistics, production planning, quality assurance, and finance to ensure seamless supply chain operations. Develop and implement procurement category strategies in compliance with federal regulations like the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and procurement regulatory standards. Negotiate contracts for sourcing ferrous metals, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining strong supplier partnerships through effective contract management. Utilize procurement tools such as E-procurement systems, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and strategic sourcing techniques to enhance efficiency and cost savings. Monitor market pricing trends for ferrous metals to inform purchasing decisions and maximize profitability. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations across all procurement activities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, leveraging project management skills to implement best practices. Requirements Proven experience in vendor contract management, procurement negotiation, and supply chain management within the ferrous metals or scrap metal industry. Strong familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS for procurement operations. Extensive knowledge of procurement category management, strategic sourcing, and public sector purchasing regulations including FAR. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contract terms in a competitive environment. Experience with logistics planning, materials management, production planning, and quality assurance processes. Familiarity with procurement regulatory frameworks and compliance standards related to federal or public sector purchasing. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data on pricing trends for ferrous metals.
