Description: Reporting to the Manager/Senior Manager, SCM Operations Category Management, the incumbent in this position will be assigned category portfolios to manage and will be responsible for the full lifecycle of contracts within those portfolios. This includes developing category strategies in consultation with stakeholders, executing agreed-upon strategies, and managing post-award contract performance. The incumbent will also be responsible for day-to-day contract administration and maintenance in accordance with company requirements. The role will support the broader Operations Category Management team with contract administration activities, including but not limited to RFx creation, contract development and management, data analysis, system support for Ariba and SAP, and performance reporting. This role will support Category Management initiatives across Upstream and Downstream operations throughout North America. Roles & Responsibilities This role includes informal leadership and guidance from Category Managers, Specialists, and Senior Advisors as part of supporting the Operations Category Management team. Core Activities: Own and manage assigned categories throughout their lifecycle, including cost modeling, pricing and supplier analysis, and portfolio segmentation. Execute sourcing initiatives according to the annual plan and ensure all activities follow established procurement and sourcing processes. Develop category strategies, conduct supplier pre-qualifications, manage RFx processes, perform bid evaluations, lead negotiations, facilitate contract awards, and oversee post-award management. Manage post-award contract activities, including contract amendments, KPI reviews, dispute resolution, claims management, and contract close-outs. Ensure all documentation is maintained within the appropriate contract management systems. Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts from Legal, Risk Management, HSE, QA/QC, and other functions to support commercial activities. Provide guidance and peer support to team members. Support supply chain strategic objectives and business value initiatives. Assist in supplier performance management and continuous improvement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Legally entitled to work in Canada. Undergraduate degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of procurement or contract management experience. Minimum 2 years of category management experience. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Strong understanding of the sourcing and contracting lifecycle. Foundational knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Master Data, and Master Data Governance. Strong financial acumen and experience with data analytics and visualization tools. Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Preferred Assets: Professional Supply Chain certification (SCMP, CSCP, CIPS, ISM, or equivalent). SAP experience.
