Job Summary No CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Needed – Part-Time, Split Shift Join our team as a School Van Transportation Driver and be a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation for students. In this energetic role, you will operate school vans and specialized vehicles to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips. Your dedication will help foster a positive experience for young learners while adhering to all safety standards and traffic laws. Duties Safely operate school vans, or paratransit vehicles according to established routes and schedules. Ensure the safety of all passengers by following transportation safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and vehicle codes. Assist students with boarding, disembarking, including wheelchair assistance and behavior management when necessary. Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels. Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with defensive driving techniques and emergency stop procedures. Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents or delays during transportation routes. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to ensure smooth daily operations and address any concerns professionally. Writing skills for completing reports accurately; knowledge of school policies related to student discipline and behavior management is a plus. What You Need Valid Ohio driver's license At least [21] years old with [3]+ years of driving experience Clean driving record (we'll check your Motor Vehicle Record, or MVR) Able to pass background checks, including Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprinting Able to pass a drug screen and a physical exam Reliable, on time, and patient with kids Why Drive With Us You're not just driving a route.
