Position Description
Reporting to the General Manager, the Scheduling Manager is a critical leadership role
responsible for translating sales orders, engineering specs, and project milestones into
optimized, actionable production schedules for our Okanagan Falls manufacturing facility.
You will act as the vital bridge between project management, supply chain, and the factory
floor to ensure that all mass timber components are manufactured on time, on budget,
and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in
industrial manufacturing scheduling, a highly analytical mindset, and the ability to
orchestrate complex variables in a dynamic, make-to-order manufacturing environment
This is an on-site position located at our facility in Okanagan Falls, BC
Responsibilities
Lead the development, maintenance, and execution of the master production
schedule for cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam manufacturing operations at
the Okanagan Falls facility.
● Act as the central hub between Project Management, Engineering (BIM/CAD),
Procurement, and Operations to align raw material availability and approved shop
drawings with production timelines.
● Analyze factory capacity against current and forecasted workloads. Identify
potential bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules or recommend resource
allocations to protect delivery commitments.
● Leverage ERP systems to maintain part masters, BOMS, production order
execution, release work orders, manage WIP (Work in Progress), and maintain
meticulously accurate production data and material consumption.
● Establish and maintain demand forecasts in collaboration with the project and
distributor sales teams along with inventory supply and procurement teams to
ensure lumber feedstocks, adhesives, and custom steel hardware are physically
available precisely when needed to prevent downtime.
● Manage Chain of Custody (FSC/SFI) certification compliance, maintaining full
material traceability across all production schedules. Monitor daily production
performance against the schedule. Generate and present monthly reports on
production output and forecast targets. Weekly check ins with production and
project management teams to maintain schedule alignment and priorities
● Champion initiatives to streamline the scheduling process, reduce manufacturing
lead times, minimize changeover waste, and implement lean manufacturing
principles within the planning department.
● Oversee workload distribution, establish clear team goals, conduct performance
reviews, and drive continuous capability development across direct reports.
