Scale House Operator. WeighMaster

Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scale House Operator, also known as a WeighMaster, to oversee the efficient operation of our weigh station and manage the accurate weighing and documentation of incoming and outgoing vehicles. This vital role ensures compliance with shipping regulations, maintains safety standards, and supports smooth logistics flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments. Duties Operate the weigh station equipment to accurately weigh trucks, trailers, and cargo in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements Verify shipment details using inventory management software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as AS400 or similar platforms Record weight data precisely through data entry into warehouse management systems and maintain detailed logs of all transactions Coordinate with warehouse staff to facilitate shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management activities Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards during shipment processing Assist with load & unload operations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or order pickers to support efficient warehouse distribution Monitor shipping logistics, prepare documentation for shipments, and ensure proper packaging and labeling for domestic and international deliveries Maintain safety protocols at the weigh station, including proper use of equipment like forklift trucks and pallet jacks Provide excellent customer service by addressing driver inquiries professionally and efficiently while managing traffic flow at the scale house Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or logistics environments preferred Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools Strong basic math skills for accurate weight calculations and data entry tasks Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment safely; forklift certification is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in weighing, data entry, and record-keeping Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members, drivers, and vendors Knowledge of international trade regulations and trade compliance standards is advantageous Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment Join us as a Scale House Operator to ensure seamless logistics operations while supporting our commitment to safety, accuracy, and exceptional service.
