Vaco by HighspringVaco is hiring a Sr. Supply Chain Consultant Location: Remote or Local to Cincinnati, Ohio Preferred Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Supply Planning & SAP S/4 Manufacturing Planning Specialist to strengthen supply-planning capabilities across our U.S. manufacturing plants. The organization is approximately one year post SAP S/4HANA go-live and is focused on increasing system adoption, standardizing planning processes, and improving the connection between production operations and supply planning. This role will bring a strong manufacturing and production-planning perspective to supply planning while serving as a subject-matter expert for SAP S/4 supply-planning functionality. The ideal candidate will understand both the realities of plant operations and how to leverage SAP to support effective, standardized planning processes. Key Responsibilities Supply Planning & Manufacturing Best Practices Define, document, and standardize supply planning and production planning processes across U.S. manufacturing plants. Evaluate current planning practices and identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and system utilization. Incorporate manufacturing and production-floor requirements into supply-planning processes. Develop and implement planning best practices related to production scheduling, material availability, capacity, lead times, and inventory. Support production simulation and scenario planning to improve decision-making. Establish standardized work processes, planning parameters, and operating procedures. Partner with plant schedulers, production teams, supply chain leaders, and SAP teams to align business processes and system capabilities. Identify opportunities to reduce reliance on individual schedulers' institutional knowledge through standardized processes and SAP-enabled planning. SAP S/4 Supply Planning Expertise Serve as a subject-matter expert for SAP S/4HANA supply and production planning. Troubleshoot SAP-related planning issues and determine root causes of system or process problems. Support users with SAP transactions, tables, planning functionality, and related system processes. Assess and improve master data quality and its impact on planning results. Analyze planning parameters, lead times, production data, and other inputs that influence SAP planning outcomes. Identify gaps between current business processes and SAP S/4 capabilities and recommend improvements. Work with IT/SAP support teams to resolve system issues and improve system performance and usability. Help plants maximize the capabilities of SAP S/4 rather than relying on manual workarounds or offline planning tools. Support testing, process changes, system enhancements, and user adoption initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Significant experience in supply planning, production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management. Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly supply planning and/or production planning. Strong understanding of manufacturing planning processes and plant operations. Experience troubleshooting SAP planning issues and working with SAP transactions, tables, and master data. Demonstrated understanding of production lead times, material requirements, inventory, capacity, and production scheduling. Experience defining and standardizing business processes across multiple sites or manufacturing operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate manufacturing requirements into practical SAP-enabled processes. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting an organization following an SAP S/4HANA implementation or go-live. Experience with production simulation and scenario planning.
