A four season operating model includes a mountain bike park and one of the most accessible ski destinations in North America. The Summit at Snoqualmie is proud to be part of the Boyne Resorts family of resorts. Boyne Resorts is the largest family owned, independent mountain resort company in North America, guided by five core values: Serve First, Developing Great People, Attitude is Everything, Long Term Thinking, and Excellence in Execution. Responsibilities: The Sand Truck Driver – Night keeps The Summit at Snoqualmie’s parking lots and resort roadways safe through the afternoon and evening, when daytime melt refreezes and guests are leaving or arriving for night skiing. Reporting to the Snow Removal Supervisor, this seasonal role operates a CDL sand truck across all base areas on a 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM shift. The role exists because surfaces change quickly as temperatures drop after sunset, and guests and employees need safe footing and traction on their way out. Success means lots and roadways are treated ahead of the evening freeze, the truck is in safe working order, and every shift ends without incident. The duties below are organized under the Boyne L.E.A.D.S. value each most directly reflects. Long Term Thinking Track sand usage and stockpile levels during the shift and alert the Snow Removal Supervisor before supplies run low. Report equipment wear, damage, or malfunctions promptly so issues are repaired before they become breakdowns. Follow established routes and treatment priorities, and suggest improvements based on conditions seen in the field. Excellence in Execution Load sand and traction material and spread it evenly across parking lots, resort roadways, and access points at Summit West, Summit Central, Summit East, and Alpental. Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document the results. Operate the sand truck and spreader with precision in tight lots and around parked vehicles, pedestrians, and other equipment. Monitor surface conditions throughout the shift and re-treat icy or high-traffic areas as needed. Fulfill department and resort hauling needs as assigned. Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures, and perform other related duties as assigned. Attitude is Everything Communicate clearly by radio with the snow removal crew, parking staff, and supervisor about progress, hazards, and priorities. Receive the day driver’s handoff at the start of shift and brief the overnight snow removal crew on conditions and open issues before end of shift. Stay composed and safety-focused through long shifts, darkness, and severe weather. Serve First Prioritize pedestrian crossings, lodge walkways, guest drop-off zones, and parking ahead of afternoon departures and night skiing arrivals. Respond quickly to requests from Parking, Guest Services, and other departments to treat newly reported icy areas. Treat guests encountered in lots and on roadways with courtesy and patience, directing them to staff when they need help.
