Blue Water Industries | Lake Wales, Florida Job Overview Blue Water Industries, a growing sand and aggregate producer, is currently hiring for a Plant Manager at our Grove Sand Plant in Lake Wales, Florida. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Objective: The Plant Manager has direct responsibility for the site, including safety, quality, environmental compliance, operations, inventory management, employee management, and community relations. The Plant Manager must be able to lead a safe, efficient, and productive sand mining and processing operation while maintaining high standards of quality and cost control. Responsibilities: Safety: Ensures that the site meets or exceeds all local, state, and federal safety regulations. Pursues a culture of safety with an objective of "zero" injuries or incidents. Actively engages with the workforce to ensure a safe workplace and identify opportunities for improvement. Environment: Ensures environmental regulations are met or exceeded by following Blue Water Industries' established best practices. Maintains compliance with applicable environmental permits and regulations associated with sand mining and processing operations. Operations Management: Provides direct oversight of sand extraction, dredging, processing, screening, stockpiling, and shipping operations. Must understand process flows, dredging applications, and sand processing equipment to ensure efficient plant operations. Follows established processes and utilizes available tools to optimize production, minimize downtime, and maintain operating costs within established targets. Inventory Management: Closely manages inventory needs at the site through frequent coordination with Sales and Quality Control. Monitors production volumes, stockpile levels, and customer demand to ensure adequate material availability. Performance Management: Promotes a culture of performance and accountability. Effectively measures operational efficiency, tracks production performance, monitors operating costs, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. Quality: Understands the importance of product quality and ensures processes are in place to provide consistent sand products to customers. Utilizes best practices in dredging, processing, screening, stockpiling, and material handling to ensure products remain within target specifications. Familiarity with sieve analysis, material gradation, and quality control procedures is preferred. Must be able to identify quality variances and implement corrective actions. Planning: Develops operational and capital plans for the plant to continuously improve productivity and maintain low costs. Prepares budgets and forecasts, monitors operating cash costs, and tracks production performance. Works closely with Sales to optimize production, sales, and inventory levels. Assists in the development of Mine Plans and ensures they are properly executed. Capital: Works with the Area Operations Manager to identify necessary sustaining and development capital. Assists in preparing CERs (Capital Expenditure Requests) and supports the installation and construction of projects as required. Plant Housekeeping: Maintains a high standard for plant appearance and housekeeping. Plant image includes the appearance and cleanliness of the entire site, including parts storage, maintenance areas, dredging and processing equipment, mobile equipment, site entrances, property, and buildings. Workforce Management: Supervises and manages a workforce of approximately 6–10 employees, depending on production requirements and sales volume. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
