Job title: Same Day Courier - Bismarck to Jamestown Route (Independent Contractor) Location: Bismarck, ND (route runs to Jamestown, ND) Job type: Contract (independent contractor, 1099) Pay: $145 per completed route day Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 11:30 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m., excluding State holidays Meadowlark Logistics is opening a new lane for a state government client under a multi-year contract: a daily round trip between Bismarck and Jamestown. We are looking for an independent contractor to run it Monday through Friday. The route The run leaves Bismarck around 11:30 a.m., goes to Jamestown, and comes back to Bismarck, finishing around 4:00 p.m. It is about 205 miles a day, mostly on I-94, with about three and a half hours of driving. You will carry sealed mail, briefcases, and locked totes. Nothing on this run is heavy, and it all fits in a car. Your mornings are open. You can use them for your own business, or take additional same-day work from Meadowlark when it's available, paid in addition to the route rate. We cover full route details at the interview. You get the exact pickup and delivery locations once the contractor agreement is signed. Requirements Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (motor vehicle record review). Able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screen. The background check is required for access to the correctional facilities. Able to pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment. Meadowlark facilitates the application. A reliable car, SUV, or minivan in good mechanical condition, with a lockable trunk or cargo area, good winter tires, and current registration and insurance. Comfortable driving I-94 year-round in North Dakota winter conditions. A smartphone with a data plan for the Meadowlark driver app (scans, signatures, tracking). Professional, courteous, and on time every day. Prior courier, delivery, or highway driving experience is a plus but not required. Independent contractor relationship This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. You contract with Meadowlark Logistics, LLC through your own business (sole proprietor or LLC) and are paid per completed route day on a 1099 basis. You are responsible for your own vehicle, fuel, maintenance, insurance, and taxes. Meadowlark does not withhold taxes or provide benefits, and there is no guaranteed minimum. You are free to accept or decline work and to provide services to others. Settlements are paid by ACH on the 1st and 15th of each month.
