Sales/Research & Development Support

Main Functions: The Sales Research & Development Associate supports the Sales and Product Development teams by coordinating product samples, managing customer sample requests, assisting with new product launches, overseeing packaging development and testing, and ensuring accurate product setup. This role plays a critical part in supporting sales initiatives, product innovation, and customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with company safety standards. Sample Coordination and Management Directly responsible for preparing product samples requested by the Sales Team. Coordinate and oversee the production of samples from request through completion. Verify that all samples and accompanying labels meet customer and sales specifications. Ensure samples are prepared accurately and delivered within required timelines. Manage and track sample requests within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Shipping Coordination Schedule and coordinate all outbound sample shipments. Prepare shipping documentation and ensure timely delivery to customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders. Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues that may impact delivery schedules. Packaging Development Support Assist in the design and development of packaging for new products. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Product Development teams to ensure packaging meets customer and company requirements. Coordinate and oversee testing of new packaging materials and designs. Document testing results and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders. New Product Setup and Coordination Coordinate activities required for new product introductions, including: Requesting and obtaining P1 Codes. Requesting and assigning GTINs. Coordinating setup of Wanchese item information. Gathering and maintaining product specifications. Coordinating sample production and distribution for new products. Ensure all new product information is accurate, complete, and entered into required systems. Administrative and Cross-Functional Support Maintain accurate records related to samples, product development projects, packaging initiatives, and product setup activities. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient communication and execution of projects. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sales processes, product development, and customer service. Safety Responsibilities All employees are directly responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. Lead by example in promoting workplace safety. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Correct or report unsafe conditions, practices, or behaviors observed in the workplace. Ensure compliance with all company policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Participate in required safety training and meetings. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Cold Wet Environment Refrigerated – 40F° Shift hours 7AM – 4 PM Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform computer-based work for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and move sample materials and packages up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in office, production, warehouse, and laboratory environments as needed. Employment Requirements Marketing, Food Science, Product Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience in sales support, product development, customer service, supply chain coordination, or a related field preferred. Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational, project coordination, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
