Sales Operations Specialist - Order Management
Robinson Lumber CompanyRobinson Lumber Company is looking to hire a Sales Operations Specialist to join our team in an Order Management-focused role. You’ll own the customer and order lifecycle, overseeing accounts from order entry through shipment handoff. That means managing data accuracy, coordinating across internal teams, and serving as a reliable point of contact throughout the process. Much of this work is fast-moving and reactive: schedules shift, priorities change mid-day, and things still need to get done. No prior order management experience is required, though it’s welcome. Our established operations team will provide one-on-one training and mentoring. A good candidate is a true task master who can run several moving pieces like a project manager. They set their own priorities, reshuffle them quickly when plans change, and keep everyone informed along the way. Our systems and processes change often, including growing use of AI and automation, so curiosity about new tools matters as much as anything on a résumé. Your responsibilities will include: Entering and validating sales orders and purchase orders Managing multiple time-sensitive orders at once, adjusting quickly to schedule changes and urgent requests Acting as a coordination hub between Sales, Logistics, Credit, and Supply teams, keeping everyone aligned on status and next steps Maintaining accurate and complete order and shipment records in Salesforce and our ERP system Monitoring open orders and proactively following up on status, readiness, and outstanding items Using AI tools and automated workflows to speed up order entry, tracking, and follow-up Supporting credit management and escalating issues appropriately Reviewing and resolving order discrepancies, documentation gaps, and account issues Other tasks as assigned To be considered you must: Have strong computer skills and the ability to pick up new software quickly Be comfortable with frequent, ongoing changes to tools, processes, and priorities Be able to set your own priorities and shift them quickly as the day demands Have strong project management instincts, tracking many moving parts and seeing them through to completion Communicate clearly, proactively, and often, both in writing and in conversation, so no one is left guessing Thrive in a team environment, jumping in to help and sharing information freely Stay organized and calm under pressure, managing competing deadlines without dropping the ball Be open to working alongside AI and automation as a regular part of the job Experience in operations, order management, supply chain, project coordination, or Salesforce is a plus but not required.
