About IPF Racing IPF Racing is a design and additive manufacturing company specializing in reverse engineering and prototype manufacturing. We work quickly to develop solutions for clients in industries ranging from racing to restoration, using additive and subtractive CNC manufacturing. Our Sales Engineer works between our customers, our design engineers and our suppliers, and owns the numbers on every custom project. Role Summary You will quote and invoice every custom project that comes through the shop, from the design fee through final manufacturing, and source, quote and invoice the outside suppliers who make those parts. This is a hands-on commercial role focused on: Turning customer requests into accurate design fee quotes Building manufacturing quotes from real supplier pricing on material, process, finish and quantity Getting quotes out fast — a quote that sits is a customer who goes elsewhere Keeping every customer invoice, supplier PO and supplier invoice matched and accounted for Success is measured by quote turnaround, pricing accuracy, and invoices paid, not quotes sent. Ideal Background You'll do well here if you've worked in: Job shops or contract manufacturing Estimating or quoting for CNC machining, 3D printing or fabrication Purchasing or supplier management for low-volume, high-mix parts Motorsport / aftermarket environments Inside sales or customer service at a technical company This is a quoting and purchasing role with a technical side. Most of your day is spent with customers, suppliers and our design team working out what a part will cost to make, and there is no cold calling or commission quota. Required Skills Technical Working knowledge of CNC machining and 3D printing (FDM and metal/DMLS) processes, materials and finishes Ability to read CAD models and drawings well enough to price a part and spot what drives its cost Experience writing RFQs, comparing supplier quotes and issuing purchase orders Comfortable with invoicing and order tools (Shopify, QuickBooks or similar) Strong with spreadsheets and keeping records current in a job management system Practical Comfortable pricing quickly from incomplete information Good judgment on when a quote needs a designer's input and when it doesn't Able to follow up on unpaid quotes and invoices without being pushy Clear, plain-language communication with customers who range from engineers to hobbyists Organized enough that no supplier invoice gets paid without matching what was quoted Job Details Location: On-site, Madison Heights, MI Employment type: Full-time Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 per year IPF Racing is an equal opportunity employer.
