Sales Associate

Overview Acme Workwear is a 54 year old business located in the Excelsior District of San Francisco. We are a brick and mortar retail store servicing people in the trades such as plumber, electricians, carpenters, etc.... The key brands we carry include Carhartt, Ben Davis, Dickies, Timberland Pro, Red Wing, Thorogood, Keen, Levi's and many more. We are looking for someone with retail experience to work 32 hours per week and handle everything from POS operation to stock fulfillment to store organization. Working weekends will be required. Not every weekend but likely 2 out of every 3. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive shopping experience Assist customers with product selection and explaining features clearly Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Upsell products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities while meeting customer needs Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts Ensure the sales floor is organized, clean, and well-stocked to facilitate easy shopping Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone Support inventory management by conducting stock checks and assisting with inventory counts Apply basic math skills for cash register operations, pricing adjustments, and sales calculations Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve store performance Experience Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or managing shifts Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively Familiarity with retail environments enhances your ability to adapt quickly Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interactions and active listening, are essential Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering procedures is required Knowledge of merchandising techniques, product demos, and upselling strategies will set you apart Join us if you’re passionate about delivering top-notch customer service in a lively retail environment!
