Sales Assistant

Sales Assistant Position Summary We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Sales Assistant to support customer account setup, sales order processing, packaging supply purchasing, and general administrative duties at our sweet potato processing plant. Key Responsibilities Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer records, pricing, and product specifications. Process customer orders and coordinate order details, packaging requirements, and delivery schedules. Communicate with customers regarding orders, product availability, and account needs. Order and track packaging supplies, including cartons, boxes, bags, labels, and pallets. Communicate with packaging vendors to obtain quotes, place orders, and monitor deliveries. Track packaging inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available for production. Coordinate with sales, production, warehouse, and shipping teams to meet customer requirements. Maintain accurate purchase orders, sales records, inventory information, and other administrative documentation. Qualifications Experience in sales support, customer service, purchasing, or office administration. Experience setting up new customer accounts and coordinating packaging supplies preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records. Experience in food processing, agriculture, manufacturing, or produce packing is a plus. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Additional coursework or a certificate in business administration, sales, purchasing, or supply chain management is preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, or equivalent office software. Relevant work experience in customer service, sales administration, purchasing, packaging, or inventory management may substitute for additional formal education.
