Favorite Brands DistributorsJob Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to lead our safety and DOT compliance initiatives across warehouse and distribution operations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety training programs that promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Your expertise will ensure that all team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe and healthy workplace environment, aligning with OSHA, FDA, FMCSA, and DOT regulatory standards. Responsibilities Monitor and evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies: OSHA, FDA, FMCSA, DOT. Support and enforce policies and procedures to establish a stronger safety culture. Establishes high-quality relationships with corporate leadership. Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions covering OSHA, FDA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations, health standards, and workplace safety protocols. Conduct root cause analysis of safety incidents to identify gaps in training or procedures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Responsible for safety records management as it relates to: SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), OSHA 300 and 301 Form preparation, Accident/Incident investigations, DART, TRIR. Conduct safety committee meetings, audits, and inspections to: ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify preventative and corrective action plans, and implement follow up assessments. Lead investigations related to safety incidents or hazards by gathering data, writing detailed reports, and recommending improvements aligned with legal compliance standards. Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analysis, investigations, and provide effective documentation of findings and recommendations Support the development of worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous materials disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouses, distribution environments or industrial settings with a strong understanding of workplace safety principles. Certification in First Aid, CPR, OSHA safety standards, or related safety training credentials preferred. Familiarity with Workers' Compensation Law ensures understanding of legal obligations. Strong report writing skills combined with analytical abilities for root cause analysis and incident investigation. Excellent communication skills to effectively train diverse teams on complex safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging training programs that foster a proactive safety culture while ensuring regulatory/legal compliance standards are met.
