Rural Carrier Associate (RCA)

Please read: · You are required to provide a vehicle sufficient in size for delivery of mail and packages. RCAs will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance. You will be required to have the ability to deliver from the right-hand side of the vehicle, even if you provide one. Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) $21.89 per hour paid bi-weekly RCAs case, deliver, and collect mail along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle and provide customers on the route with a variety of services. As a Rural Carrier Associate, you’ll deliver mail and packages in rural and suburban areas—enjoying variety, autonomy, and a steady pace. You may use your own vehicle if a postal vehicle is not provided. While you’re guaranteed work one day a week, you’ll need to be available up to six. With daytime hours, minimal supervision, and a flexible structure, this is a strong entry point for a long-term USPS career.​ · Benefits may include health insurance. · Part–time, non-career position, which may lead to a full-time career position. · Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger. The driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide. · Hours will vary on weekdays and will include holidays and weekends; there is no guarantee of hours. · You must be flexible with little to no lead time or advance notice of a schedule change. · You are required to provide a vehicle sufficient in size for delivery of mail and packages.
