Mileage Reimbursement Duties Safely operate various types of delivery vehicles, including trucks with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload cargo using proper manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts and roll-off trucks to ensure secure transportation of freight. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while maintaining safety on the road. Deliver parcels and freight directly to customers’ doorsteps or designated drop points across rural areas with professionalism and accuracy. Handle hazardous materials or dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations, ensuring safe transport and delivery. Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, pickups, route driving hours, and vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure trucks are in optimal condition for daily operations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during the shift. Experience Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving roles involving route driving across rural or remote areas. Familiarity with truck types such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable. Prior delivery driver experience handling freight or logistics cargo handling is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely over long distances. Experience with GPS navigation tools and route planning software to optimize delivery efficiency. Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to dangerous goods transportation and compliance with all federal and state trucking regulations.
