The work puts you behind the wheel on rural and suburban routes , sorting and delivering mail and parcels to customers across the region. You'll work independently, in all weather and traffic conditions , and deal with customers face to face when the route calls for it.
About the Role:
Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier, On-call Relief 1 On a delivery shift, you'll sort the mail for your assigned route, then drive it to completion in your own vehicle .
You'll handle parcels weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) , collect outgoing mail from customers, and process Canada Post products and services such as Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail reports, and Items Delivered Bills . You're expected to wear Canada Post identification visibly throughout your shift.
Because routes pass through communities you'll get to know well, you'll build and maintain familiarity with local roads, delivery receptacles, and customers .

Responsibilities The duties for this position cover the full delivery cycle : sorting mail before the route, driving it to completion, and handling customer-facing transactions along the way. You'll also be responsible for maintaining knowledge of the routes you cover and processing a range of Canada Post service documents .
