Routing and logistics Coordinator

Job Overview As a Routing and Logistics Coordinator, you’ll keep shipments moving by coordinating routes, dispatching vehicles, and communicating clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams. You’ll use transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to track freight, update records, and support efficient road transportation operations. Your work connects transportation planning with day-to-day logistics, shipping, and receiving. Responsibilities Coordinate vehicle dispatch and route plans, using GPS and geographic information systems (GIS) to support routing decisions. Track freight and shipment status in transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management when applicable. Manage multi-line phone systems, handle phone calls with professional phone etiquette, and provide responsive customer service. Complete accurate data entry and typing tasks; maintain dispatch, fleet management, and shipping and receiving records. Share timely updates with drivers and internal teams, and apply analysis skills to resolve scheduling or delivery issues. Qualifications Strong communication, organizational, and phone communication skills; able to manage competing priorities and details accurately. Experience or familiarity with logistics, supply chain, transportation management, transportation planning, dispatching, or road transportation operations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with GPS, GIS, transportation management systems, or vehicle dispatch software is an asset. Understanding of freight, fleet management, shipping and receiving, and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is preferred.
