Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Router to join our logistics and transportation team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight and shipments, ensuring seamless transportation operations across multiple channels. Your expertise will help optimize supply chain efficiency, maintain compliance with DOT regulations, and enhance customer satisfaction through effective communication and dispatching. Duties Manage vehicle dispatching and routing using advanced vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management. Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to ensure timely delivery of freight. Monitor road transportation operations, including shipping & receiving, fleet management, and logistics planning, to optimize routes and reduce transit times. Enter data accurately into transportation management systems, maintain detailed records of shipments, freight details, and delivery schedules. Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and third-party logistics providers (3PL) to resolve issues promptly while maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and customer service. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and internal policies during all dispatching activities. Support analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements in supply chain efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in transportation planning, road transportation operations, or logistics coordination. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data entry and analysis. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Knowledge of fleet management, vehicle dispatch software, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight handling. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills for effective internal communication, phone call management, and customer service interactions. Ability to adhere strictly to DOT regulations and safety standards during all dispatching activities. Experience with GPS technology, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and analysis skills for route optimization is preferred.
