Route Driver

Job Title: Route Delivery Driver Department: Sales Reports to: Fleet Supervisor Effective Date: 1/2022 Job Summary: The route driver is responsible for the delivery of product for which they are carrying. They are also responsible for delivering to the appropriate location and filling of shelves, coolers, displays, or vending machines, depending on their route. This job includes the upkeep and inspection of their specific truck. Duties/Responsibilities: Read orders and remove product from trailer accordingly Transport product via handcart into store Assist with checking the product in with the store personnel Fill shelves/cooler/displays, rotate product Responsible for ensuring daily route paperwork is done accurately Ensure payment is collected per customer payment agreement Responsible for morning truck walk-around inspection and documentation Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure service is performed in a timely manner Assist in the training of new drivers and helpers as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent customer service skills Excellent attention to detail Some computer skills required Forklift, pallet jack, handcart training; required every 3 years Education/Experience/Licensure/Credentials: Delivery experience, preferred Clean and valid driver’s license Class A required for side loader/bulk route DOT physical, required for all delivery positions Compliance with random DOT drug testing requirements Physical Requirements: Able to lift 50lbs Able to move more than 50 lbs with a handcart Able to perform repetitive movements safely
