Position Summary

Tacten is looking for a hands-on Rope Access Operations Manager in the Pacific Region. You’ll lead multi-trade crews, oversee project execution, and ensure safe, efficient, and IRATA-compliant operations. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role for a professional eager to take on leadership, broaden their skills, and drive success on high-profile industrial projects.

Position Details:

  • Location: Sparwood, BC

  • Schedule: Project-based, up to 40 hrs/week, with potential for overtime

  • Rate: Up to $59.50/hr, depending on experience and certifications

  • Requirements: Candidates must be local to the area or willing to relocate

Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead and support welders, pipefitters, and rope access technicians across active job sites.

  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

  • Conduct site visits, toolbox talks, and review JHAs and permits (rope access, hot work, confined space).

  • Coordinate logistics for crew travel, mobilization, and accommodations.

  • Track consumables, materials, and equipment to maintain readiness and efficiency.

Weekly Responsibilities

  • Perform site walk-throughs and safety inspections.

  • Review time tracking, project updates, and three-day lookaheads.

  • Support Project Managers with QA/QC documentation and cost tracking.

  • Verify compliance of rope access gear and PPE.

  • Lead or contribute to weekly safety and progress meetings.

Monthly Responsibilities

  • Oversee rope access gear inspections and certification renewals.

  • Review budgets and forecasts; track project spend against targets.

  • Manage shop inventory and place replenishment orders as needed.

  • Submit safety, compliance, and performance reports.

  • Conduct performance reviews and coordinate training or recertifications.

Requirements

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification

  • Hands-on mechanical and industrial experience in complex environments

  • Multi-trade leadership, with experience managing and coordinating diverse teams

  • Project management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and work execution

  • Welding expertise, including inspection, procedures, and fabrication practices

  • NDT certifications/experience considered an asset

  • Strong work ethic with a focus on high-quality results

  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members

  • Exceptional safety awareness and commitment to quality standards

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills

  • Self-motivated, capable of operating at a high technical and performance level

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
