Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Roll-Off Driver, where you will be the vital link in our waste management and logistics operations. In this energetic role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of various types of cargo, including industrial waste, construction debris, and recyclable materials. Your expertise in truck driving and cargo handling will ensure efficient pickups and drop-offs across diverse routes. Responsibilities Safely operate roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries of freight and hazardous materials. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or truck-mounted equipment, adhering to safety protocols. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes, avoid delays, and meet delivery schedules efficiently. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards during all operations. Secure loads properly for transport, ensuring the safe handling of dangerous goods or hazardous materials as required by law. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, inspections, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure the truck’s safety and readiness for operation. Skills Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as roll-off trucks, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks in a logistics or waste management environment. Strong knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and cargo handling techniques. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles safely over long distances on OTR routes. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety protocols related to dangerous goods transportation. Skilled in manual handling tasks including load securing, forklift operation (preferred), and truck loading/unloading processes. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with relevant endorsements for hazardous materials if applicable.
