Duties Safely operate roll-off trucks according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure prompt delivery and pickup schedules across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight or hazardous materials (hazmat), adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently by loading and unloading containers or debris with manual handling techniques while maintaining safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, cargo manifests, and compliance records for all shipments involving dangerous goods or hazardous substances. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate route adjustments or address unforeseen issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures with an emphasis on logistics cargo handling. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazard communication standards, and dangerous goods handling procedures. Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely while adhering to all traffic laws and safety guidelines. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driving across diverse environments is preferred.
