Responsibilities Safely operate roll-off trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tanker trucks, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight containers, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow assigned routes for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local deliveries. Manage the manual handling of logistics cargo, including loading and unloading containers with care to prevent damage or injury. Deliver waste or freight to designated locations with precision, maintaining excellent customer service throughout each interaction. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and compliance logs in accordance with regulatory requirements. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with a focus on safety and efficiency. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and automobile transportation is a plus. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and hazard communication protocols. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; experience with truck loading/unloading equipment preferred. Skilled in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments during deliveries. Excellent manual handling skills for cargo management; capable of load & unload procedures involving freight or logistics cargo handling. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for tractor-trailer operations; clean driving record required.
