Camera Robotics Prep & Logistics Technician Location: Islandia, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday – Friday (40 hrs/week; flexible hours/days dependent on production rental workflow) About the Role We are a specialized broadcast robotics and high-end camera rental house supplying custom systems for major live television broadcasts, arena events, and feature productions worldwide. We are seeking a highly disciplined, detail-oriented Robotics Prep & Logistics Technician to take ownership of our shop prep, equipment tracking, and inventory flow. In this role, you will prepare, inspect, stage, and track camera robotics, winches, and remote head systems to ensure they are deployment-ready for live broadcasts. You will combine hands-on maintenance, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, and inventory logistics with meticulous order. In addition to day-to-day prep and logistics, you will be trained in and expected to master shop technical tasks—including cable soldering, multi-pin connector wiring, 3D printing, basic CNC machining, hardware prototyping, and mechanical service. Whether your background is in industrial maintenance, live production, field service, precision logistics, or the military, if you take extreme pride in meticulous detail, systematic organization, and keeping high-value gear running flawlessly, this role offers direct technical growth and long-term stability. Key Responsibilities Precision Prep & Checkout: Check specialized camera robotics, remote heads, and broadcast gear in and out using inventory management software. Test, inspect, and stage equipment against exact prep manifests down to every cable, bolt, and connector. Logistics & Inventory Management: Maintain strict order and total accountability for millions of dollars in rental inventory. Track gear condition upon return, identify missing/damaged components, and maintain clear records. Shop & Facility Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and secure facility. Manage shop staging areas, flight case storage, and equipment shelf layout. Material Handling & Truck Loading: Safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jacks) to stage, load, and unload delivery trucks, freight shipments, and transit vans. Technical Maintenance & Assembly: Learn and execute hands-on shop tasks under supervision, including cable soldering, multi-pin connector wiring, component assembly, and mechanical service on pan/tilt units and winches. Shipping & Receiving: Load and unload trucks for local and long distance delivery. and ensure strict delivery timelines for live broadcasts. Qualifications & Key Attributes Extreme Attention to Detail: Deliberate, thorough, and double-checks every line item. You treat high-value, delicate gear with absolute care. Technical & Mechanical Aptitude: Passion for working with your hands, with electronics, hardware, and physical build projects. Prior experience, or strong willingness to learn—3D CAD drawing (Fusion360, SolidWorks, etc.), 3D printing, CNC machining, soldering, and basic circuit tinkering is a major plus. Physical Capability: Able to safely lift 50–70 lbs, handle heavy flight cases, and perform active shop/warehouse tasks throughout the day. Process-Driven & Reliable: Punctual, structured, and capable of operating independently with high integrity. Safety & Care Mindset: Zero-compromise approach to equipment handling, cargo securing, and workplace safety. Forklift Experience (or Willingness to Learn): Prior experience operating material handling equipment, but can easily be trained and certified. Military Veterans Encouraged: Transitioning military personnel with backgrounds in Avionics, Ordnance, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Supply/Logistics (MOS 92Y / AFSC 2S0X1), or Maintenance are strongly encouraged to apply.
