Road Driver

This role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations. Key Responsibilities Include Driving tractor-trailers, including doubles and triples if applicable. Conducting daily pre-trip and safety inspections. Hooking/unhooking trailers and converter dollies. Completing required documentation and maintaining accurate logs. Following dispatch instructions and communicating about delays, arrivals, or issues. Loading and unloading freight as needed. Complying with hazardous material regulations, laws, and company policies. Performing additional duties such as chaining tires or supporting city or dock operations if necessary. Qualifications And Skills Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements (automatic transmission restriction allowed). At least 1 year of recent experience or successful completion of a driver development course. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds, sit for extended periods, and perform physical tasks like climbing and bending. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Motivated, with demonstrated initiative. Working Conditions Driving long distances in various weather conditions, including night and day. Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required. This position emphasizes safety, compliance, and operational efficiency, requiring a qualified driver capable of handling physical and logistical demands.
